Tile Frame
As a student trainee at the Scientific Instrumentation Facility at Boston University in the Fall of 2018,
I designed and manufactured a frame for some decorative tiles (created by artist Faith Hyde) under the mentorship of Glenn Thayer.
Final product
The problem that I was solving was that I was given decorative tiles over two years ago for which I could not find any wall hangers that I liked. They were sitting in storage and not on my wall. The wall that they are now hung on is a gallery wall so I decided to make the frame include the angled nail holes so that I could align the frame easily and then pop in the tiles.
The mill was manually programmed for each cut.
